Big champions and simple fans of mountain bike: more than 1.500 bikers at the starting line in Iseo next Sunday.
On Sunday, 27 September the grids of the eighth edition of the GimondiBike will open to receive the best protagonists of mountain bike.
Confirmed Gerhard Kerschbaumer’s presence, who in Canberra has just conquered the world junior men’s cross country title and the gold medal in team relay with Cristian Cominelli and Eva Lechner, who there will be in Iseo too. The world champion will have to reckon not only with Mirko Celestino, new Italian Marathon Champion, in search of his first success in this competition, but also with the 2008 podium (Marzio Deho, Ramon Bianchi and Alexey Medvedev), and Robert and Alexander Gehbauer from Austria. Leonardo Paez from Columbia, thanks to his excellent form, will try to celebrate his fifth consecutive win in this year. He will be helped by his Tx Active Bianchi teammates, Andrea Tiberi and Julio Caro.
About women, Lechner will stand a good chance of showing her value, challenging three bikers well known at GimondiBike, Daniela Bresciani, Elena Gaddoni and Sandra Klomp.
With them, on the wonderful track immersed in Franciacorta, more than 1500 bikers who will help to make this great day of sport and enjoyment still more charming.
